K n i t

  • to make (a garment, fabric, etc.) by interlocking loops of one or more yarns
  • to form or create from diverse sources or elements:
  • to become closely and firmly joined together;

Reflection: How are you like a knit piece? Are you the knitter creating the story? Are you the yarn holding the stories all together? Perhaps you are the fiber and have a story all your own?

Oh what a fiber glory
to take some yarn or string,
weave, knit or crochet
it all into a story.

Just like bees
that tend to their hives
knitters knit stories
of their lives.

It all starts with
a single loop
of fiber, yarn or thread,
and soon a story
does arrive from
the knitter's head.

Make it fancy
or make it plain,
it is up to you
do not refrain.

Make it lace
or make a cable,
it's up to you
if you are able.

Just knit the story
for all to hear
could take a week
or a year.

Please pass it down
to generations,
they do it a lot
in many nations.

To start is easy
it takes a good place to sit
Get comfy, grab yarn,
and begin...to knit.
